PRESENTING THE JM WORLD ORCHESTRA LINE-UP OF 2026!

We are back!

After many years, the JM World Orchestra returns, reviving a one-of-a-kind international project that brings together outstanding young musicians from around the world.

Selected through an international audition process, these talented musicians will come together in Granada, Spain, to form the JM World Orchestra 2026 for an extraordinary week of artistic collaboration starting from 28 august until 5 september 2026.

Bringing together participants from across Europe, Asia, and North America, the programme celebrates artistic excellence, cultural exchange and international friendship through music.

Following five days of intensive rehearsals, the orchestra will present two public concerts, including one at the iconic Palace of Charles V in the Alhambra and another at the Calderón de la Barca Theatre in the coastal city of Motril.

ABOUT THE CONDUCTOR:

DAVID FERNÁNDEZ CARAVACA

David Fernández Caravaca (Córdoba, 1995) is an outstanding young conductor of his generation. Winner of the 2023 Juventudes Musicales de España Orchestral Conducting Competition, he was subsequently appointed Assistant Conductor of the Castilla y León Symphony Orchestra.

He is building an active international career, working with orchestras such as the Elbland Philharmonie Sachsen, Orquesta Sinfónica de Tenerife, Hofer Symphoniker, and returning to ensembles including the Orquesta Sinfónica de Navarra and the Südwestdeutsche Kammerorchester Pforzheim. He has also appeared with major Spanish orchestras including the Orquesta de Radio Televisión Española and the Real Orquesta Sinfónica de Sevilla.

Alongside symphonic repertoire, he has experience in opera, including Music Direction for the revival of Peter Pan at the Staatstheater Mainz, and has assisted conductors such as Vasily Petrenko and Elim Chan in youth orchestra projects.

He is currently Principal Conductor of the Córdoba Youth Orchestra and a fellow of the German Music Council’s Forum Dirigieren. He trained in Weimar at the Hochschule für Musik “Franz Liszt” and at the Reina Sofía School of Music, combining solid Central European training with artistic versatility.

We warmly congratulate all selected musicians and thank everyone who applied to this year’s edition. This year, we received 230+ applications, making the selection process exceptionally competitive. We are grateful for the enthusiasm, dedication, and outstanding level of musicianship demonstrated by every applicant.
