In 1958 JM World Orchestra brought together outstanding young musicians in Brussels, Belgium, under the guidance of world-class conductors such as Hans Swarowsky for a full concert programme followed by an international tour. The JM World Orchestra is a historical program of Jeunesses Musicales International and it still represents a significant part of the history of the organisation, as well as the first international youth orchestra of its kind.
The 1958 was also the year of the creation of the international Youth Orchestra.

Conductor

Hans Swarowsky (1899–1975) was an Austrian conductor and one of the most influential conducting teachers of the 20th century, known for his deep musical scholarship and analytical approach to interpretation. He taught at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna, where he trained many prominent conductors, emphasizing structural clarity, fidelity to the score, and intellectual understanding of the repertoire.
