Cervera, Barcelona, Lerida, Vitoria, San Sebastian, Bilbao (Spain) and Festival Carcassonne (France)

In 1983 JM World Orchestra brought together outstanding young musicians in Cervera in Catalunya and Zarauz in Basque countries, for a performance under the Spanish conductor and composer Antoni Ros-Maba. The JM World Orchestra is a historical program of Jeunesses Musicales International and it still represents a significant part of the history of the organisation, as well as the first international youth orchestra of its kind.
The Orchestra in 1983 brought together musicians from 22 countries, with performances in Cervera, Barcelona, Lerida, Vitoria, San Sebastian, Bilbao (Spain) and Festival Carcassonne in France.

Conductor

Antoni Ros-Marbà (born 1937) is a Spanish conductor and composer who has played an important role in the musical life of Spain and Catalonia. He has served as music director of several orchestras, including the Orquesta Sinfónica de RTVE, and is particularly known for his interpretations of Spanish repertoire and his commitment to promoting the music of composers such as Manuel de Falla and Enric Granados. Alongside his conducting career, Ros-Marbà has also been active as a composer and teacher, contributing significantly to Spain’s orchestral and musical culture.
