In 1980 JM World Orchestra brought together outstanding young musicians in Kobenhavn in Denmark, Brussels and Brugge in Belgium for a performance under the French conductor Serge Baudo, assisted by Jacques Mercier. The orchestra brought together 93 musicians from 22 different countries.

Serge Baudo

Serge Baudo (born 16 July 1927) is a French conductor. He studied conducting and theory at the Conservatory of Paris, winning premiers prix in harmony, percussion, chamber music, and conducting. Having studied both composition and conducting, he chose to pursue composition at first, and wrote music for French radio as well as scoring films. Very quickly, however, his career as a conductor took an international turn and precedence over his career as a composer.
