1977
Seoul (South Korea), Tokyo (Japan)
In 1977 JM World Orchestra brought together outstanding young musicians in Seoul, in S. Korea and Tokyo in Japan for a performance under the French conductor Serge Baudo. The JM World Orchestra is a historical program of Jeunesses Musicales International and it still represents a significant part of the history of the organisation, as well as the first international youth orchestra of its kind.
Sessions were held in Seoul (South Korea), with 18 countries represented.

Conductor

Serge Baudo (born 16 July 1927) is a French conductor. He studied conducting and theory at the Conservatory of Paris, winning premiers prix in harmony, percussion, chamber music, and conducting. Having studied both composition and conducting, he chose to pursue composition at first, and wrote music for French radio as well as scoring films. Very quickly, however, his career as a conductor took an international turn and precedence over his career as a composer.
